Deciding who to invite can be daunting.

Here’s an easy way to choose your guests, ask yourself, have you talked to them on the telephone in the last year?
If you need to further reduce, ask yourself if you’ve seen them in person in the last year.  If not, they don’t make the list.

How do you explain?  Well, try one of these responses:

Our venue only holds XX
Our budget could only accommodate XX
We couldn’t invite everyone so we kept the invitation list very intimate

Remember, on average 20% of your guests will not attend.  For weddings in hometowns and grand destinations within the United States, assume a smaller number of regrets; closer to 10-15%.
