Thursday Tip: Marriage Licenses; How Many?

We work with so many couples getting married.  Here is a tip for them…well the new Mrs. 

You’ll need multiple copies of your marriage certificate so you can get your name changed on all sorts of things.  First start with your social security card and driver’s license.  Next you’ll need to inform your work, bank, brokerage accounts, insurance companies, mail away for a new passport, deed to your house and title to your car.  After that your credit cards, utilities and frequent flyer/hotel perk card.  When its all said and done you may need ten copies of your marriage certificate. 

Its also good to put one in your safety deposit box so you always have one close by!
