Thursday Tip – When to order what?
We’ve decided that a tip or two once a month may be a nice treat! First off, when to order what. Let’s start with when things need to be mailed and work backwards.
Mailed = 6-12 months before the wedding
Ordered = Two months before you plan to send
Mailed = Two months before your wedding
Ordered = 4-6 months before your wedding
You should begin looking at invitations about six months before your wedding; more if you have time. Different invitations require different production times. We, as well as the album companies, have some invitations that have a production time of one month AFTER proof approval. So, you’ll need to order these no less than five months before your wedding to give you time for addressing, stuffing and mailing.
You can also order a few (or all) thank you notes at this time. You’ll need those for gifts you receive from showers and early wedding presents shipped to you from family and friends.
Why do these time frames matter? Because we want you to enjoy the wedding stationery process. Nothing prevents or hinders this more than a rush order that did not have to be a rush order. Also, why limit your choices based on time when you could just order earlier?
Ordered = One Month
Picked Up = The week of the wedding*
*for destination weddings you can pick up the prior week or have us mail to the venue.
We like to start working on these items one month before and typically print, and assemble is required, a few days to a week in advance in case there are any last minute changes.
What is Wedding Day Stationery? Programs, Seating Charts, Place Cards, Table Numbers, Menus, Signs, Favor Boxes, Favor Tags, etc.
