Weekly Thought – Support is what you need!

Any small business owner will tell you, having your family’s support is key to success. 

My mom, however, was and we could not be where we are today without the help she gave.  While I worked a full time job she ran the store for over six months.

During the holidays, when we were busier than ever, my family came to the rescue.  My 89 year old grandmother, 85 year old aunt, cousin and of course my mother, could be seen stuffing envelopes and much more.  From tying bows and assembling invitations, every December is marked with work for my family…and never with a complaint!

Many of of my out of town family members have placed orders – that business was really appreciated!

Many of you whom we interact with in the event industry often talk about the support of your spouse – give them a BIG kiss and thanks as you don’t know how fortunate you are to have that support.

For anyone considering starting a business, check with your family to see their level of commitment; ask them to be honest and take them at their word if they say they won’t or can’t help.  If they say they can or will; hold them accountable.

For anyone who has someone close to them starting a business or even trying ot grow an existing business, offer your help and support them with an occasional purchase.
